zero trash innitiative

an iteration of the larger idea of trying to use media to make something happen

the thing, here:
reduce "landfill" use to zero

proposed method
of applying media to this thing:
use this media space to collect

ideas about how to make it happen

ideas come in various forms
for example
thematic, that is, describing
themes (as opposed to
fitting into them)
which might also be termed
conceptual
meaning assertions of principle
and
specific
where a particular action is
described

thematic?
if we reduce landfill use
business will decline for certain
garbage haulers
we might want to
investigate the specifics of that
where those players will
find alternative employment
or
we might want to plan
the transition to zero trash
over a period of years
so everyone has
time to adjust
or both

a bit more specific:
i'm actually demonstrating this:
i haven't thrown anything
"in the trash" (at home)
for several months
it's a revelation to me that that's possible!
that it's actually easy
though some attention is required

if i can document my experience
and my method
maybe others will take it up
(i know i'm not the only one
doing this, but ... more ...)
